Kia America, a subsidiary of Hyundai, is recalling more than 35,000 vehicles in the U.S. following warnings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recall stems from inadequate wiring harnesses in HVAC blower motors, which pose significant fire hazards. This marks the latest in a series of safety issues for the automaker this year.

Earlier recalls include 137,256 vehicles under audit for defective piston oil rings in Seltos and Soul models, and approximately 201,149 Telluride SUVs due to door belt molding trim defects. The recurring safety concerns highlight ongoing quality control challenges for Kia and its parent company Hyundai.
